Light Microscopy

Overview

We provide services in multi-dimensional imaging with fixed and live specimens using
•    Laser scanning confocal microscopy
•    Low-level-light imaging

Support is also available for
•    Image processing
•    Statistical analysis
•    Motion analysis

In addition, we pursue collaborative research in application of these techniques.

The confocal microscopes and low-light-level imaging systems have been configured for
•    Contrast enhancement
•    High resolution 3D imaging
•    Dynamic imaging of biological specimens
•    Multiple fluorescence channels
•    Optical sectioning using motorised focus
•    Multiple fields

Image processing and statistical analysis can be employed for
•    Deconvolution
•    Colocalisation
•    Segmentation of cells and intracellular structures (automatic or interactive)
•    Morphometry
•    Tracking
