Research Goals
To understand how post-translational protein modifications by members of the ubiquitin family, such as ubiquitin and SUMO, contribute to mutagenesis and the maintenance of genome stability, in particular in the context of lesion bypass during DNA replication.

Postdoctoral work at the University of Heidelberg (1997-1998) and the Max Planck Institute for Biochemistry, Martinsried, Germany (1998-2000).
Group leader at the Max Planck Institute for Terrestrial Microbiology, Marburg, Germany (2000-2004).
EMBO Young Investigator (2003-2006).
Joined the London Research Institute at Clare Hall in September 2004.
