Stem Cell Club Meetings

The London Research Institute is proud to host the Stem Cell Club meetings every two months. These meetings cover topics in all fields of stem cell biology including embryonic stem cells, adult stem cells, iPS and cancer stem cells from basic science to clinical and biotechnological applications.

Primarily young investigators and group leaders establishing their lab are invited to present their future projects or current work, providing a great platform to meet and establish interactions with people from various field of expertise in an informal way to promote networking.

All meetings will take place in Room G37A/B 44 Lincoln's Inn Fields (how to find us), from 17.30-19.30 unless otherwise advertised.

If you are interested in attending or presenting, please contact Aleksandra Banasiak. Your details will be added to the mailing list and you will be informed about dates and programs of upcoming meetings.

The dates for the 2012 Stem Cell Club meetings are:

  • 19th March
  • 21st May
  • 23rd July
  • 17th September
  • 19th November

    Mathematical Biology Interest Group

Seminars are held for the Maths and Biology Interest Group on the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm at 44 Lincoln's Inn Fields.

The aims of the Mathematical Biology Interest Group are to cater to the interests of people at the LRI who already work on mathematical biology, and to provide a showcase, for a wider audience, for the value of mathematics in cell biology and cancer research.

    The London Fly Meetings

The London Fly Meetings take place at 6.30pm every third Wednesday of the month, except July-August. Contact: Nic Tapon

The London Fly Meetings are monthly gatherings of Drosophila groups in the London area held at the London Research Institute on the third Wednesday of each month. Usually, two speakers drawn from participating labs or an external speaker present in an informal setting. These meetings are supported by the Genetics Society.

    Advanced Bioimaging

The advanced Bioimaging Interest group hosts internal and  external  seminars once a month followed by discussions. The group aims  to introduce scientists at the LRI to new bioimaging techniques in the context of biology, discuss emerging imaging techniques on a more technical level and coordinate the different initiatives around microscopy and bioimaging at the LRI.
