Michael Way - new Editor in Chief of the Journal of Cell Sciences

Michael Way (Cell Motility Laboratory) has been announced as the new Editor in Chief of the Journal of Cell Science by the JCS Advisory Group.

Journal of Cell Science (JCS) is an international peer-reviewed journal in the field of cell biology that is published by The Company of Biologists, a not-for-profit charitable organization run by biologists for the benefit of the biological community. The JCS was established in 1856 and is committed to publishing the full range of topics in cell biology.

Michael has been an editor of the JCS since 2005 and is looking forward to taking on the role as Editor in Chief when Fiona Watt steps down at the end of this year. Michael praised the work of his predecessor: "Fiona has done a great job in raising the profile and impact of the journal and I hope to build on her legacy."

Gipi Schiavo, a fellow group leader at the LRI and Editor of JSC said: " I am delighted that Michael decided to take onboard this new challenge. Although the responsibility to replace Fiona Watt is huge,  he will be a fantastic Chief Editor. I am looking forward to the changes he will bring to JCS and to continuing the discussions on what is important for the future of Cell Biology. "

Michael established the Cell Motility Laboratory in 2001, the lab has had over 100 articles publications in national and international journals.
