Community

Our postdoc community contributes significantly to the scientific culture at the LRI and the world-class research that we produce. There are normally between 180 and 200 postdocs working in the LRI, making them the largest group of scientists in the institute.

LRI postdocs are funded by four year LRI Postdoctoral Fellowships. They are also encouraged to apply for external fellowships awarded by other organisations such as EMBO, the Human Frontier Science Program, the Wellcome Trust, FEBS and the EU via Marie Curie Fellowships.

The LRI has an international culture, and our postdoc community contributes to this diversity.

All LRI postdocs participate in the LRI Postdoc Programme, which provides them with extensive support, training and career development during their time here.

The postdoc community is actively involved in scientific and social life at the LRI too. For example, postdocs help to plan and organise the LRI Retreat, the Postdoc Retreat and internal seminar series. Postdoc Consultative Group Meetings provide an important forum for postdocs to discuss issues that affect them within the LRI and to communicate with LRI Administration and Management.
